Understanding your mind, equipping you to thrive
ADHD Assessments in Northern Ireland
ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) can show up in many ways: difficulty concentrating, impulsivity, excessive activity, forgetfulness, or restlessness. Although most people will experience some of these features some of the time, for some, they cause real distress - impacting relationships, academic progress, work performance, or emotional wellbeing.
At Mirabilis Health, we offer specialist ADHD assessments for adults. Our approach is compassionate, thorough, and aligned with NICE guidelines, ensuring clarity, support, and practical next steps.

When to consider an ADHD Assessment
Persistent distractibility or a wandering mind
Chronic procrastination or poor time management
Emotional sensitivity—especially to criticism or rejection
Impulsiveness or difficulty with self-regulation
Trouble staying organised or following through on tasks
Excessive activity, restlessness or fidgeting
Unexplained academic or workplace underachievement
Difficulty forming or maintaining relationships
Everyone has strengths and struggles—but when these patterns interfere with daily life, a clear diagnosis can open the door to understanding, accommodations, and therapeutic support.
FAQ’S
-
Our ADHD assessments are designed to be comprehensive, kind, and clinically sound. We take time to listen to your story, gather evidence, and use gold-standard tools to inform our diagnosis.
The process includes:
A structured diagnostic interview.
Screening questionnaires to be completed by you and by people who know you well.
Partial review of prior assessments and medical records.
A clear, written diagnostic report with recommendations for support.
-
Once your assessment is complete, our team takes time to carefully review all findings before writing a full clinical report. This report is more than a checklist of symptoms—it’s a detailed, personalised analysis based on our interview with you, any screening tools used, and your developmental, academic, medical and psychological history.
If a diagnosis is made, we’ll explain which subtype of ADHD has been identified (inattentive, hyperactive-impulsive, or combined), how it presents in your day-to-day life, and what this means for you now and in the future.
If the evidence does not meet the threshold for a formal diagnosis, we will still provide you with a clear summary of your strengths, challenges, and next steps. In either case, the report will offer tailored recommendations, which may include therapy options, workplace or academic accommodations, lifestyle changes, or (if appropriate) a referral for medication consultation with a psychiatrist.
Note: We do not provide prescriptions for ADHD medication. This must be done through your GP.
-
Your assessment will be conducted by our expert clinicians—consultant psychiatrists and clinical psychologists with extensive experience in neurodevelopmental conditions, trauma-informed care, and ADHD specifically.
Each of our private consultants are registered on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register.
We approach every assessment with curiosity, compassion, and care—seeking to understand the whole person, not just a checklist of symptoms.

An ADHD assessment can offer life-changing clarity. If you’ve been struggling with focus, organisation, restlessness, or overwhelm, a formal diagnosis helps you understand why—and what to do about it.
You’ll receive a comprehensive report that outlines your diagnosis and personalised recommendations. This can help you:
Make sense of lifelong patterns and challenges
Explore treatment or therapy options
Speak to your employer about reasonable adjustments at work
Share with your school or university to access academic support or accommodations
Ultimately, this process can be a powerful first step toward managing life with greater confidence, self-awareness, and direction.
-
You’ll typically receive your report within 2 to 3 weeks of the assessment. This allows our clinicians time to ensure the report is accurate, thoughtful, and clinically sound.
-
