At Mirabilis Health our doctors include psychiatrists, most of whom are also trained psychotherapists specialising in EMDR accredited in Europe and the USA.
 
Our medical staff work with adolescents; working age adults and adults in later life. The youngest person that we work with is usually 14 years of age. There is no upper age limit.

Dr Paul Miller, MD, DMH, MRCPsych

Consultant Psychiatrist and Psychogeriatrician. Clinical Lead and Responsible Officer at Mirabilis Health
Dr Miller is a senior psychiatrist specializing in general adult and old-age psychiatry and a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

He specializes in the psychological impact of trauma, across a person’s lifetime and uses a combination of medication and talking therapies to treat these conditions. Dr. Miller has over 20 years’ experience of treating mood disorders, psychosis, dissociative disorders, phobias, memory disorders, sleep disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder; having worked in the NHS and Private sectors. 
 
One of the gold-standard and internationally recognized treatments for the psychological reactions to trauma is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and he is an accredited EMDR consultant and an EMDR institute facilitator. Dr. Miller has served on the Council of the EMDR UK and Ireland Association and chaired the training subcommittee. He introduced EMDR therapy to psychiatry in the Northern Ireland National Health Service (NHS), setting up EMDR clinics across the region. He left the NHS in April 2009 to pursue a full-time private practice and founded Mirabilis Health in January 2011, the first private psychiatrist-led clinic specializing in EMDR therapy in Northern Ireland with an active research interest.

Dr. Miller is a popular national and international speaker on topics including schizophrenia and EMDR, and he has been an Honorary Lecturer in Mental Health at the University of Birmingham and at Queen’s University Belfast. Dr. Miller is the recipient of the Galloway Award presented by the National Schizophrenia Fellowship (2000), the International Society for Psychiatric Genetics Travelling Scholarship (2001), and the Northern Ireland Section of the Royal College of Psychiatrists Research Prize (Irish Division: 2002).

Dr Volodimir Bezulowsky, MD, EMDR Accredited, Affiliate - Royal College of Psychiatrists

Associate Specialist Psychiatrist
Accredited as EMDR Practitioner since 2012. He has a clinical interest in the use of EMDR not only as first-line treatment of trauma, but also as an adjunct in the treatment of mood or anxiety disorders. He is currently working towards becoming an EMDR Consultant and is available to offer EMDR supervision. As part of the team at Mirabilis, he offers psychiatric assessment and treatment not only for adults but also young people from the age of 14 years old and above.

He also has a special interest in psychiatry and spirituality, has given many seminars to mental health professionals on this topic, and regularly offers mental health training to clergy, chaplains, pastoral or youth workers in faith-based organisations.

Dr Richard Anderson, BA (Oxon), MD, MRCPsych, QUB Certificate in Post-Graduate Education for Healthcare Professionals

Dr Anderson has been a full time NHS consultant psychiatrist since 2006. He specialises in General Psychiatry for adults and has a particular interest in psychosis which was the subject of his MD thesis at Queen’s University Belfast. In addition, he is endorsed by the Royal College of Psychiatrists in Addiction Psychiatry. He is an honorary lecturer at Queen’s and lead educational supervisor for psychiatrists in training in the Northern Trust. 

As an Honorary Lecturer at QUB (renewed Nov. 2015) Dr Anderson is very involved in training medical students at QUB. He can provide training in all aspects of general adult psychiatry including severe mental illness, psychopharmacology for healthcare professionals, alcohol and drug dependence, mental health and the law and the Mental Health (NI) Order (1986) in particular. 

Additionally, Dr Anderson provides training in Communication Skills for healthcare practitioners as he has a longstanding role as a tutor for Communication Skills for QUB medical students. He is also able to provide training in interview preparation for prospective medical students including the multiple mini interview (MMI) process for entry to medical school.
